INTRODUCTION

In this course we aim to show you every step of the making process in detail and give you the confidence to make cushions to be proud of, made the same way we make them in a pro workroom. We’ll go through all the steps from cutting the panels, finishing the raw edges, cutting and making piping, joining panels, insertion of regular and invisible zips, as well as looking at materials, tools and cushion pads.

We look at the core principles of cushion making, then worked examples of full tutorials and pro methods.

CUSHION MAKING OVERVIEW: Cindy goes through the core principles in making a cushion discussing tools, materials and outlining the basic method used for making all cushions.

FULL TUTORIALS: These are tutorials that take you from start to finish making a particular type of cushion.

PRO METHODS: These are mini tutorials that show you the differences when using a particular type of trim etc.

CUSHION MAKING OVERVIEW

There are lots of variations making cushions, but the making essentially breaks down into the basic method and core principles below. This will give you an overview of cushion making and a place to refer to if you need to quickly check a method (eg how do I insert an invisible zip into a piped cushion or how do I overlock a plain panel etc).

After this overview, there are 3 full step by step tutorials, showing you how to make a plain, piped and flange edged cushion.
